TLC Medical Training Home Health Aide Training Program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed as a Home Health Aide. Here’s a detailed overview of what you can expect from the program:

Program Overview

  • Instructors: Credentialed nursing instructors with professional experience.
  • Curriculum: Engaging and comprehensive program that meets both state and federal education regulations. Covers theory, hands-on skills practice, and includes clinical experience at a skilled nursing facility.
  • Focus Areas: Critical thinking, decision-making, teamwork, patient care, and communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Settings for Home Health Aides: Adult daycare centers, hospice facilities, group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residential homes.

Program Details

  • Duration: 75 hours (3½ weeks). Morning, weekend, and evening classes may be offered.
  • Delivery Method: Classroom-based instruction with interactive learning activities and hands-on clinical skills training.
  • Completion Time: Generally 3½ weeks, depending on the student’s pace.

Certification

  • Outcome: Completion of the program prepares students to take the Home Health Aide certification exam.
  • Certification Process: Students who pass the exam will receive a Home Health Aide diploma.
  • Admission Requirements:
  • Age: At least 18 years old. No high school diploma or GED required.
  • Skills: Fundamental reading and writing skills in English are essential.
  • Background Check: Level II background check with photo identification required.

Schedule and Enrollment

  • Admission Policy: Rolling admission.
  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $150 (registration fee included) is required upon registration.
Industry Certification & State Credential Exams
  • Certification Preparation: The program prepares students for state and/or nationally recognized industry certification or licensure exams.
  • Exam Costs: Included in tuition. Students will work with the Program Director to sign up for their certification examination.
Uniforms: TLC Medical Training uniforms are provided to each student upon enrollment. One set of uniforms is included in the tuition. Any additional uniforms will be the student responsibility- uniforms are ordered by the school

Health & Other Requirements To Work
  • Physical Exam
  • Tuberculin (PPD), QuantiFERON, or Chest X-ray
